6th regatta race "Ovcarsko-Kablarska Gorge"

On Saturday, 17th July, in the organization of Tourist Organization of Cacak, Mountain Society “Kablar” and restaurant “Dom”, the sixth regatta race “Ovcarsko-Kablarska Gorge” on the lake Medjuvrsje will be held.

All who wish to participate, can apply on the day of the regatta from 9 am, on the parking of the restaurant “Lanterna”.  The regatta starts at 10 am from the restaurant “Lanterna”, and the end of the regatta is at the restoraunt “Dom”  in Ovcar Spa.  The path is 11 kilometers long.

Enjoying in the nature of Ovcar Spa will be complemented by the sounds of trumpet orchestras.

Ovcar Spa, Serbian Holy Mountain in Ovčarsko-Kablarska Gorge, for 10 years continuously, traditionally, during July and August, brings together several hundred participants in the event, “Summer Days of Culture”. Participants in the program are well-known and recognized artists, and amateurs from all over Serbia and from abroad (Mexico, France, Poland, Spain, etc.).

“Summer Days of Culture” contains three segments: "Blagovestenje choral evenings', “Theater summer meetings” and art colony “Serbian Holy Mountain'. Between these segments, sacred sermons, literary evenings, concerts of jazz and evregreen music, "St. Eliah’s Day', Traditional Fair of folk creativity and customs, are also held .

The organizers of the “Summer days of culture”, “Ovcar Spa 2010th' are the Cultural Center of Cacak and local communities in Ovcar Spa, under the auspices of the town of Cacak.

The 14^th Big Mountain Race, organized by Mountaineering Society Kablar, will be held on Saturday, 19^th September.

Big Mountain Race is the sport-recreational-environmental event. The task of the participants is to cross the trail by mountain bike, running, hiking and visiting cultural, religious, historical and natural values of Ovcar-Kablar gorge. Start is at the town square in Cacak, and the finish is on the plateau beside the car camp in Ovcar Spa.

PROGRAM:

• Registration of participants until 09:00
• 09:25 Race Opening
• 09:25 Start at the town square for all participants, improvised start (for hikers guide provided)
• 10:00 Start at the company "Sloboda" (for mountain bikers, marathoners and recreational athletes)
• 13:00 The ceremony for bikers and marathoners
• 16:00 Arrival of hikers, mountaineers and other participants
• 16:30 Free bus to Cacak for all participants
• Free lunch for all participants
• Race Closing

40 volunteers will be on the trail during the race.

SENIOR BIKERS AND MARATHONERS - RSD 500.00
HIKERS, JUNIOR BIKERS, PUPILS AND MOUNTAINEERS - no fee

* All competitors must wear protective helmets and bikes have to be technically correct. The race is driven solely by the MTB bicycle.

On 22nd August, third time this year will be organized tourist excursion by train "Romance" to the Ovcar Spa.

Excursion program

At the 199 km of railway from Belgrade, the Ovcar-Kablar gorge is situated, which is a unique combination of nature, cultural and historical heritage.

Through the space between the massive mountains Ovcar and Kablar the river Zapadna Morava flows. This nature mosaic is made of many plant and animal species, and the lake which reflects the woodland mountains. The Gorge is characterized by the beauty of landscape, characteristic relief, a source of thermal mineral water, but is best known for its numerous monasteries.

The Ovcar-Kablar monasteries are one of the most compact sacred Serbian cultural and historical entity, which is due to its long duration through time, specialty of our cultural and artistic heritage, created during six centuries. There is possibility of visiting four of the nine monasteries: Jovanje, Uspenje, Blagoveštenje and Nikolje.

Starting from the Belgrade 06.55h (arrival at 10:45 h), starting from the Ovcar Spa in 19.00h (arrival in Belgrade 22.20h).
